What is an endodontist?
Root Canal Specialist
An endodontist is a dentist who has completed further training to specialise in diagnosis of dental pain and root canal treatment. While a root canal can be performed by a general dentist, there are situations when they might decide it is in the best interest of the patient to refer them onto a specialist endodontist. Dr Aggarwala is a qualified specialist endodontist who works in collaboration with your dentist and/or other treating health professionals to ensure you achieve the best outcomes.

Appointment Information
During your first visit with us, we obtain a thorough medical and dental history, take some x-rays of your tooth/teeth, and carry out some tests to establish an accurate diagnosis. In some cases, we may recommend a three-dimensional scan, called a cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scan, of your tooth or surrounding structures to aid in reaching a diagnosis. This helps us to develop a treatment plan that is tailored to you. We will discuss the different options that are available to you including the associated costs.
It is important that you bring the following to your consultation to assist us in looking after you:
- Referral letter from your dentist or treating health practitioner
- A list of any medications you may be taking
- Any other supporting information such as x-rays if available
- Information on private health insurance if available
